It's not a nice process, but thanks to your help I'm a lot further along that I would have been. Contents Connect your iPhone to the desktop and open iTunes.

The Director is flying out this afternoon - when he gets back next week I'll tee up another time with the PA and talk her through how to delete the now-duplicated contacts from the original sync partnerships. Assuming it's all good, we'll kick off the import of the second file. I'll jump back on her laptop and we'll verify that the contacts have imported. We only had a 30-min slot today, so that's as much as we could get done right now. By the looks of things it'll take about an hour to eat the first file. It's merrily chugging away now to import the contacts from the first VCF card file. After that, go to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars option. First of all, take your iPhone and tap on the Settings icon.

I purchased a copy of the Sperry Software vcard importer and have installed it on the director's PA's laptop. In order to move contacts from Office 365 to iPhone by using the manual procedure, you need to perform the following steps that are given below: 1. Finally, upload the extracted VCF contacts file which you exported in Step 1. After that, click on the Gear Icon and select Import vCard option. We've logged into their Google Contacts and exported the ~83 contacts that they had synced into that account as well. First, open your iCloud account by signing in with Apple credentials. We've jumped onto the iCloud account and exported all 1,300-odd contacts as a single VCF file. Under the File menu, select Open and then Import (yes, Import).

This guide shows how to export contacts using Outlook 2010 (Windows) and then import them into Google Apps. It's tricky getting the director and his PA in the same room at the same time for any length of time! Otherwise you might prefer to just re-create your contacts in Google Apps. Thanks for the help guys - much appreciated. I just need to get this sorted for the client. I'm not adverse to a commercial solution if one exists in this space. Surely there must be a way to say "all the contacts on this device - sync them/back them up/copy them up to this online service". Wait for while once the Office 365 calendar is added to your iPhone. Select Calendar option from the setting window. But I believe that last year some time Apple took away Contact syncing from iTunes, so that's out. Enter your Office 365 user details into the software.

I kinda remember that last time I hit this, the easiest way around it was to install iTunes on the user's laptop (*shudder*) and sync the contacts from the phone to Outlook via a trusty USB cable. Even if we had the contacts in the O365 mailbox that wouldn't work for this user because they are used to editing the contacts in the phone app. The Outlook app is no good here - it's Contact Sync on IOS is only one way (Exchange -> Phone). It doesn't touch the existing local contacts on the phone. I've set up Activesync on the phone so it will sync contacts to the Exchange account (Settings - Contacts - Accounts - Contact sync enabled), and the Default Account for contacts has been changed to the Exchange account. But the Contacts - it's been a while since I've had to do this and I'm starting to remember the pain involved. We've transitioned them to O365, migrated all their email, bought all their files across, and so on. It actually represents a significant operational risk to their business should the phone get damaged. Outlook tasks not saving.A client of mine has a LOT of contacts stored on his iPhone.
